"Neuzuxin ruins, Folker North, and Hezzo ruins are all expecting naturally occurring blizzards. Stay safe out there." The voice had repeated the message several times already. Becoming just as mind-numbing as the lightly distorted music that was playing over the Humvee's radio. The snow had already began to fall at this point on the road, as they drove through ran-down neighborhoods. The crunch of snow had became just as expected as the rumble of the engine and the jostling of the axles.

Josef, the driver, could now clearly see the rising hill where Neuzuxin was built. Elegant spires rose up into the dark sky, almost as if they were reaching for the Heavens. Most of the horizon was consumed by the city. If they didn't know any better, a person could believe that Neuzuxin was just like home.

But as they drew closer, the fact that most buildings had been cleared of paint long ago became apparent. A construction arm - Still holding a single metal support - had turned an ugly grey. A strong minority of all windows had been blown out in some way, leaving the early moon to peek through them at the brave adventurers. Other buildings became evidently distorted, with a former apartment complex uneasily leaning on the side of a skyscraper.

The snow had began to pick up, falling heavily onto the Humvee and onto the roads. Beginning to make turning a bit of an issue. Especially with the weight of six men, fourteen guns, and bags of other supplies. They came to a fork in the road, Josef came to a quick and sliding stop. Jostling and thoroughly waking anyone inside up. The radio suddenly went quiet, as though it was orchestrated.

Then there was a screech, an unholy noise. Almost like a whistle but not quite so. It grew to an ear-piercing volume and went on for a few full seconds. Before going quiet again. Just looking ahead, no one in the Humvee saw anything. Whatever made that sound was to their side, behind them, or simply out of sight.

A quick run down of the equipment you all have.
- A full set of kevlar armor, along with comfortable and fitting clothing underneath. All of which is in urban grey and black. Badges and some rank-specific equipment distinguish duties among the team.
- Six standard rifles, with scopes and silencers. Their force is enough to go straight through a man's head from medium to long distances.
- A full bag of medical supplies, including some anti-pain and relaxant drugs.
- Two energy rifles, with enchanted crystals acting as their ammunition. They fire out pure magical energy, much like solid magic. Crystals are effectively infinite, although heat up from over-use. They may explode from over-heating.
- Five machine pistols, all of which are light enough to be fired with a single hand.
- A single shotgun, automatic and loaded with buckshot.
- A couple weeks supply of non-perishable food. Cans, bags, and cups.
- Six sleeping bags, along with small pillows.
- Firestarting material.
- Six sets of winter gear.
- Several cans of petroleum.
- Six hand-held radios, that play directly into their helmets communication systems.
- Some other personal belongings to those in the car.
- Several resupplies of ammunition for the non-energy weapons.
- A hand hatchet and two knives.
- Other misc survival gear (ask for specifics if ever need be)

Out of Character: We're doing it live. You all should get on TeamSpeak for now, we'll organize from there. Once we get things going at a nice pace we can all break off.

*Ísólfr immediately grabs the shotgun, looking around the vehicle for the source of that noise, and a bottle of vodka, in case that source of noise is too scary.*

Ragnar would be practicing his tempature-bending magic in the backseat of the Humvee. He would cup his hands together in front of his mouth and try to make his outward breathing warmer.

Abraham looks out the back window searching for the thing that made the noise. "Hmm. Sounds pretty spooky. Lets keep it frosty boys."

*Karla would look around the Humvee attempting to find the source of the noise before he decides to grab a rifle and keep it close to him*
"What the fuck? Did anyone else here that?"

Those who were looking around saw it.

A single man stood in the center of the road they had just came from. He looked extremely emaciated, his ribs showed through his pale flesh. His chest roughly rose and fell. Almost as though he was terrified of the Humvee. He was standing a few feet behind the Humvee.

HOWLING! It tore through the night in response to the first man. An unholy chorus of more of those things. Nothing moved for just a moment. Before the one that had originally screeched went charging at the back of the Hummer. More of the emaciated humanoids appeared from the homes they had passed. Having broken down doors and windows upon being called. Running towards the Humvee and, by extension, those in the Humvee.

*Abraham grabs his energy rifle and continues looking out the back to see if the creatures are catching up to the humvee.*

Ragnar would lose focus on his fire-breathing/dragon-mode attempts and realize that we are indeed in danger. Ragnar would grab one of the energy rifles and start scanning out of the windows he's closest to.

"Josef... Josef, c'mon man get us out of here!"

The Humvee growled out as it took off, right in the middle of the fork. Bumping off the curb. The Humvee began to tear across dead ground. Sending dead vegetation, light snow, and soil flinging behind it. The Humvee was quickly loosing the emaciated mutants. None of them were anywhere near physically fit enough to keep up.

A sign was illuminated by the Humvee's headlamp.

Halvkott Brak, Heroes' Park. They tore past it and further into the dead park. Mangled, distorted trees sprouted up from the ground. A single football field - Grossly torn up, its artificial grass having yellowed and the bed which held it having been flung all about - stood out in front of them. Otherwise, it was a simple park. With some slopes, some dips, and not much else. It could be assumed that most of its beauty had perished with the Kingdom it resided in.

The creatures were still screeching into the night, but they had stopped charging by then. Having gathered up in the road. As though they were waiting for the team to come back. The park was rather large and far, it would take about twenty minutes to cross it at this speed.

The roads could be seen to either side, having split around the park and then encompassing it. It would be easier on the Humvee to get back onto the roads. But this could be considered mildly more safe, as they were now out of the line-of-sight of those things.
Out of Character: Reminder, this roleplay is going by a cycle of posts. Do not worry about being too slow as long as you can post daily. I encourage all of you to write as long posts as you can at the time (assuming the contents are relevant). I will not be allowing "autoing" or anything of the sort, if you can't continue posting: tell me. I will deal with your character as will need be.

Have fun!
