Status: Active
Lead: Dr. Lloyd
======================================================================================
The purpose of this project to find a way to neutralize 035 acid. The goal is to eliminate the storage of 035 acid here in the facility.

BY JOINING PROJECT ABYSS YOU MUST STILL ABIDE BY THE TESTING REQUIREMENTS.
ONCE THE PROJECT ENDS, YOU ARE TO POST ALL TEST RESULTS INTO ONE LOG, AND SHOW THE PROGRESS MADE.
A STRIKE SYSTEM WILL BE IN PLACE.
IF YOU ARE NOT FOUND TESTING WITHIN 3 DAYS, YOU WILL BE PLACED ON PROBATION FOR THE CONSECUTIVE THREE DAYS. IF YOU DO NOT TEST WITHIN THAT TIME, YOU WILL BE REMOVED.

Looking into XYZ-002 ; (06-29-2018)
Conducted by Dr. Midnight, Senior Researcher

Items and materials involved:
Night-vision Googles
Normal Bucket

Personnel involved:
SID BCU Specialist Fletcher
SID BCU Specialist Lucifer
SID BCU Specialist Shor
Head Marshal Harkon
Provost Echo
Provost FMO Tony
Dr. Midnight
Dr. Collier
D-8407
D-9534

SCPs involved:
XYZ-002 "Bottomless Bucket"
SCP-914

______________________________________________________________________________

Purpose:
To look into the anomalous properties of the bottomless bucket and to see what's inside. These results will help with finding potential ways on disposing 035's acid.

Hypothesis:
We assume that the d-class will be emptied from the bucket at coarse, but at rough we expect him to be destroyed with the bucket.

Procedures:
Put a regular bucket in on very fine to get XYZ-002.
Have a d-class put on night-vision goggles before touching XYZ-002.
Once the d-class enters have the SID bring the bucket to input and change the settings.
Watch the output for the contents of the bucket and what remains of the bucket.

Results/Observations:
Bucket > Very Fine > XYZ-002

XYZ-002 > Coarse > Small Metal bar and contents are emptied.

Metal bar > Very Fine > A Chain link Fence

XYZ-002 > Rough > Destroys the bucket, but still empties the contents inside.

Metal bar > Fine > Barrel

Barrel > Very fine > Barrel (no effects)

*Note- the metal bar, fence, and barrel all seem to have no anomalous effects.

Analysis:
XYZ-002 was the only item to have resulted from this with anomalous properties. Even though we put the metal bar and barrel as inputs, they still had no anomalous properties with their outputs. Each D-class also came out unharmed when XYZ-002 was set to Coarse and Rough. Each D-class expressed confusion as to what had just happened to them, but that is understandable and to be expected.

Conclusion:
XYZ-002 does not seem to have any way of being destroyed with SCP-914 without releasing the contents inside. No matter if its set on coarse or rough, whether or not the bucket is destroyed as a result, the contents are always emptied.
Additional Notes:
We decided to input the metal bar and barrel into SCP-914 to see if any anomalous properties similar to XYZ-002 would come from it as other potential options of storing acid. Though this was simply not the case as none of the results had any known anomalous properties to us. Also, with XYZ-002 being destroyed on rough, but the contents still emptied and turn up okay leads me to believe that no matter how XYZ-002 is destroyed, it will always empty its contents. Though that is only a personal theory I have.
Do not tip over the bucket.

"To be honest, if the SID are careful with it. It can be used as a way to get rid of SCP-035's acid. We'll test it with more liquids that are acidic at a later date. I don't wanna go the SCP-035's acid step just yet. It would be good though." -Midnight

(Bottomless Bucket Storage) (June 30th, 2018.)
Conducted by Dr. Midnight, Senior Researcher
______________________________________________________________________________

Items and materials involved:
7 steel bars
Glass panel
2 metal pads

Personnel involved:
SID BCU Fletcher
SID BCU Scott
Dr. Checks
Dr.Midnight
Dr.Collier
FMO Doyle

SCPs involved:
XYZ-002 "Bottomless Bucket."

______________________________________________________________________________

Purpose:
To see if the Bottomless Bucket is a good way to get rid of 035's acid.

Hypothesis:
The acid would go into the bucket, not reaching the bottom and end being a good way to store 035's acid.

Procedures:
Open the glass container that holds the Bottomless Bucket
Pour the acid in
Store the acid within the bucket.
Lock the glass container after pouring the acid in.

Results/Observations:
The bucket was brought to the room in which SCP-035's acid was stored. The SID BCU poured the acid into the Bottomless Bucket and then the acid was nowhere to be seen after being poured into the Bottomless Bucket.

Analysis:
035's acid hasn't disappeared from existent, it's only stored in the bucket. The contents can still be released if it's tipped over or it' set to 914 on rough or coarse.

Conclusion:
Bottomless Bucket can be used as an infinite storage that most likely won't be destroyed.

Additional Notes:
The glass container holding the Bottomless Bucket is in 035's acid storage room. To open it, SID personnel with a key are to unlock the container, lift the panel, and pour the acid in. It's a good way to store it.
Don't tip it over. All the acid will fall out if you do.

The Bottomless Bucket no longer works, we're gonna need another way to deal with the acid. The Project is being reopened, Talk to me if you want to be on the roster. Current roster members let me know if you're still willing to be a part of the project.

This time instead of storing the acid we're gonna need something that can get rid of the acid completely.

How has the bottomless bucket stopped working? It should be able to continue storing all the acid put into it. The only problem is that if it were to ever be tipped over, all of the contents would then be emptied out. Though Dr. Midnight and I solved this by simply making a container to hold the bottomless bucket to ensure it wouldn't be accidentally tipped over. Destroying the acid has proven to be difficult and we sought it better to just solve the storage problem so we don't have to worry about running out of space to store it in the future. Though if this is truly to be reopened to continue trying to find a way to neutralize the acid then I would like to continue working on this project till we find a solution.

"I don't want SCP-682 to breach and kill us all. Don't even think of using 035 acid to replace the 682 acid."

Welp, back to the tothmops. I swear it's like the universe doesn't want us to get rid of this shit. What happened to all the acid that was in the bucket? Did it just all pour out?

"If that happened I would literally be drowning while typing this to you. This is why I said don't use the bucket unless you plan on further testing on getting rid of SCP-035 acid. Of course, no one listened and now everything is going to go to hell."

I don't know, the bucket seemed like a hell of a lot better alternative, whatever. Well, I have another idea in mind, of course, I'm not gonna be joining this project just yet. However my idea should permanently get rid of the acid.
